Fresh from celebrating Jay-Z’s recent performance at Glastonbury, those Mancunian pillars of the British rock’n’roll old guard, Oasis, are set to release their seventh album on 6th October via their own independent Big Brother Recordings label. Titled Dig Out Your Soul, the effort will be preceded by a single called 'The Shock of the Lightning' on 29th September.

Continuing Oasis’ recent departure from Noel Gallagher’s duty as the band’s sole songwriter - as with 2005’s Don’t Believe the Truth - the Brothers Gallagher, Gem Archer and Andy Bell are all understood to have contributed tracks to the album. Although Chris Sharrock (used to play with Gallagher nemesis Robbie Williams) has now been confirmed as the band’s new drummer, former tub-thumper Zak Starkey (Ringo's son, also plays with the Who) is said to have fulfilled his recording on the album before departing earlier this year.

Dig Out Your Soul was recorded by Dave Sardy, whose eclectic production CV includes Johnny Cash, Helmet, Mel C and even Noel's mate Hova himself.

WARNING: The following tracklisting might not give you any indication as to what the album actually sounds like:

‘Bag It Up’

‘The Turning’

‘Waiting For The Rapture’

‘The Shock Of The Lightning’

‘I’m Outta Time’

‘(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady’

‘Falling Down’

‘To Be Where There’s Life’

‘Ain’t Got Nothin’

‘The Nature of Reality’

‘Soldier On’
